I do not know specifically who is the person responsible for the work of presentations by Steve Jobs in lectures, but this person seems whatever he did not know anything about geography or that he had not assigned himself the trouble of reviewing the information that was coordinated. Turkey isn’t in the EU either. They know where Qatar is, but Apple probably just treats it as part of Europe for operational purposes.
Really, really, common practice.
Most companies break the world into different regions, one of these being EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Qatar isn’t in Europe – but neither is it in Asia though.
However, as many corporates break their international markets down into the block known as EMEA – Europe, Middle East & Asia – it could be that the caption “Europe” should have read EMEA.
